Britney Spears Curious Rollerball Perfume

I got this for my mother the other day! She really likes this scent and her big bottle of this was changing colour! It's no longer clear! The liquid is yellow! I got her a small one because she is more in love with V&R Flowerbomb, which I will get her in a 100mL bottle!

Katy Perry - Purr

 

I got Katy Perry's first fragrance/perfume Purr today and the bottle is adorable.

I am not even a cat person and I think the bottle is cute!!

The smell is okay, nothing mind blowing in my opinion. The bottle is the main attraction I think, for me anyways, not the scent.

I am giving this to my mother as she loves girly things and I am sure she will love the bottle!!

Have you tried Purr yet? Do you have it? What did you think of it?

ELF Cream Eyeshadow Swatches

Hey guys!

I purchased these ELF Cream Eyeshadows a few months ago and haven't gotten around to using them yet! I just keep forgetting!

I decided to swatch the ones I kept though, as I gave my mum one already, I am left with 5 of the shades I purchased.

These are swatches of the ones I kept and I am pleased to report that the pigmentation is pretty good across the board!

China Glaze Electric Beat Swatch & NOTD

 

 Another shade from China Glaze's Electropop collection (yes, I bought the whole collection.... I am giving most of them away though!)

This is a nice periwinkle shade of blue with a bit of a dusty quality to it.

My boyfriend thinks it looks nice when I wore it under OPI's PMW (will post pics at a later date!)

I think its okkkkkaaay. Nothing special and I have given it to my mother. She adores blue nail polishes! They always look great on her too!! :)

China Glaze Gothic Lolita Swatch

This was suppose to be a nail of the day, but it chipped on me in less than 10 hours.

The color is nice though, but the shimmer was pretty much non existent on the nail! I used 2 coats for opacity.

Have you tried any nail polishes from China Glaze's 2012 Electropop collection?

China Glaze Kinetic Candy Swatch

I used 3 coats of China Glaze Kinetic Candy for complete opacity. This is another colour from China Glaze's Electropop Collection that came out this year (2012).

Estée Lauder Deluxe EyeShadow Compact

 Estée Lauder was the first high end brand of eye shadows I tried and it was love at first swatch.

My love for them has continued to this day! Pictured is the Estée Lauder Deluxe EyeShadow Compact that was released in 2010. Yes, I've had this for almost 2 years now! As you can tell it has been used but I own quite a few eyeshadows so I haven't hit pan on any of these.

They are expensive generally, however I got this as part of a set they released and I guess I some how figured it was cheaper. I'm not sure if it really is though.... I'm not a fan of Estée Lauder's lipsticks because I am do sensitive to smells, so lucky my mum liked them! This eyeshadow palette also came with a bunch of other stuff that I didn't need so this is the only makeup item I have left from the set. So... Was it worth it?

I love the shadows but it's really hit and miss on the pigmentation really. Purchasing them individually may be cheaper after all...

Do you buy sets and find you only use one or a few of the items? Is it worth it?

 This is from China Glaze's summer neons collection this year (2012).

I used 3 coats for it to be opaque. It looks duller than it is in the bottle but still a nice highlighter shade!

OPI Every Month Is Oktoberfest NOTD, Swatch & Mini Review

This is from OPI's most recent collection, Germany 2012! This was the nail polish I was anticipating the most! It did not disappoint and I am very happy to have it in my nail polish collection!

I used 2 coats to achieve opacity, as shown in the photo above!

Have you tried any of the OPIs from this collection? Which was your fave?

China Glaze Sweet Hook NOTD/Swatch

 

China Glaze Sweet Hook is from the Electropop 2012 collection. I used 3 coats and the formula was a little to thick and strangely thin at the same time. Love the colour though - perfect for Spring 2012! :D

I love this colour, yet I didn't like China Glaze Light As Air. This is more saturated and brighter. Light As Air, from China Glaze's Spring collection in... 2010 I believe, was too washed out for my skin tone, cracked and yellowed! :S

I won't be buying back ups of Sweet Hook but will look forward to wearing it again in the near future.

Is this shade a must have? No, not really - there are many dupes of this shade available in other brands. Sweet Hook looks like a dupe of Essie Nice Is Nice from their French Affair collection last year in 2011.

Will I repurchase? Probably not - their are many other brands with similar shades.

Will I be keeping this nail polish? Yes, I am a sucker for cremes and hoard them like no tomorrow!

I used 2 coats for this NOTD/swatch OPI German-icure! This is from their most recent collection - Germany 2012.

I am not sure if I am loving it though, I mean it's pretty but I am a bit disappointed - I wish it was more douchromy!

OPI Strawberry Margarita NOTD & Review

Hey guys!

So here's OPI Strawberry Margarita with 2 coats! I also used this on my toes, however it took 3 coats! :S A bit weird, but it really didn't look good with only 2 coats on my toes!

I only have the mini version of OPI Strawberry Margarita do that's what I used. This is a 3.75 mL bottle, and is very cute, however, it would definitely not last as long as the regular 15 mL bottles of OPI!

Wear time was normal with this nail polish and I found the colour quite bright and not office friendly at all! This would be perfect for summer though!

China Glaze I'm Not Lion With Max Factor & Sally Hansen Combo - Swatch

 

Hey guys!

I have a combination swatch to show you guys! This is 2 coats of Max Factor Ivory, 1 coat of China Glaze Ivory, and 1 coat of Sally Hansen Disco Ball.

The effect if supppper glittery yet somehow understated! This refused to dry on me though so I had to take it off.

What do you guys think of this combo? Hit or miss?

OPI Did You 'Ear About Van Gogh? - Swatch, Review & NOTD

 

 

 Hey guys!

So I have been trying to find more work appropriate shades of nail polish for work and OPI's Did You 'Ear About Van Gogh? from the Holland 2012 collection seemed to fit the bill!

The formula was a bit tricky and I used 2-3 coats. I tried 3 coats on my left hand and 2 coats on my right! They both look good, however, my right hand nails seemed to be less opaque, but I just look at them too much! Lol!

My mother thinks this is an ugly colour but I think it's pretty perfect for work! It's not loud and it's very discrete!

What do you guys think?

China Glaze I Herd That - Swatch & NOTD

 

China Glaze I Herd That is from their On Safari collection released this year (2012)!

I used 1 coat of China Glaze I Herd for the photo below, over 2 coats of Max Factor's Ivory.

This dried a gritty texture so be sure to smooth it out with a top coat if it bugs you!

I didn't wear this as a full manicure on me yet, but plan to soon.

It doesn't photograph too well here, but there are holographic glitters!!

Max Factor Max Effect Mini Nail Polish - Ivory - Swach

 

The photo is a swatch of two coats of this nail polish. Ivory? Are you kidding me? It looks more gold!

It looks a bit sheer with two coats but I think three coats would be perfect!

Cute as nail polish! I'm not sure about the colour on me but I think I need to wear it as a full manicure before deciding!

Essie Head Mistress Swatch & NOTD - Stylenomics 2012 Collection

This is 3-4 coats of Essie's Head Mistress from the Stylenomics collection from Essie this year.

The formula was a bit tricky for me because I struggled to get the nail polish to apply evenly. If you are careful though, this nail polish is a 2-coater.

I have just been having the worst luck with nail polish application but the formula on this nail polish did give me some trouble. I blame stress or something like that lol.

Is this colour unique? No. But it's nice to have and is a good colour for fall and winter. I am not sure if this is work appropriate but I will be sporting this to work this week.

 I could not wait to try out my new Essie nail polishes!! This is Essie Don't Sweater It. I used 2 coats, however the formula is pretty thick and if you are careful you could get away with one - it was a bit tooooo thick for my liking, but better than using like 5 coats hahah.

Essie Fall 2012 - STYLENOMICS COLLECTION

 

I love Essie nail polishes! They are my absolute weakness when it comes to nail polishes! My mother thinks the bottles look cheap and prefers the bottles of OPI, but I really love Essie nail polishes! I am a huge fan of OPI to though! So I really love them both ahahha ><'

I picked up the whole Fall 2012 collection and they are pictured above. Their names, left to right, are:

Head Mistress, Miss Fancy Pants, Recessionista, Stylenomics, Skirting the Issue and Don't Sweater it.

It is still winter here and for sure I will be rocking these colours soon! Watch out for NOTDs and swatches!

An Olympic Athlete Stumbles...

37 year old London 2012 Olympic athlete Vania Stambolova stumbled in the women's 400m hurdles - in the heats. I watched this happen on television and it was devastating. She was completely and utterly devastated, and I can totally understand why.

I know some people are making fun of her last name and the incident and although I can find the humour in it I do not find it funny. All her hard work was gone in an instant.

My sympathies are with her.

Another Untried Nail Polish!

I've decided I will go through my untried nail polishes for the rest of the month since I tend to use some colors over and over again, and just ignore some other ones! Does this happen to you too?

Today I painted my fingernails and toenails with Essie's Cascade Cool. This is from their Bikini So Teeny Collection, and I posted my little haul of Essie nail polishes, including this one, a few days ago :)

I used 3 coats.

This is definitely blue-toned and it's a nice shade for Spring and Summer.

I'm not sure if I'm in love with this shade or not, but I do like it!

OPI If You Moust You Moust - Minnie Mouse Collection - Swatch & Review + Comparision

 

 Oh my god. The formula on this was horrible. I used 3-4 coats and on some nails, I STILL needed more coverage. The formula sucked so badly - it was just as bad as Essie Off the Shoulder!! 

These two looked pretty similar in their bottles so I decided to show you guys pics below of them side by side. Both are nice bright pinks (but neither are neon), and both are quite photography shy! They are a bit brighter in person than they appear in photos. 

OPI leans a bit more blue toned than the Essie, however the shade is very similar.

Why am I having so much bad luck with nail polishes these days? :( I mean, I had to apply OPI on my nails twice! Yes, I had to take it off with nail polish remover, and apply again because it just didn't dry the first time! :(

Would you keep nail polishes that sucked even though you don't mind the color?

Natio Very Berry Nail Polish - Swatch + Review

Man, my nails look so short here!

I used 2 coats and this resulted in an opaque coverage of the nail.

Retailing for the price of $9.95 each, I caught this shade on sale and have used it a couple times already! It is also they color I painted my boyfriend's ties with! :p He could tell that it is purple so it doesn't look black-black. Which is awesome!

I had some cuticle drag, but for the price and colour, I can overlook that!

I really like this colour on me! It's not black, just a hint of plum - looks great and is perfect for winter!

L'Oreal Color Riche Nail Polish: New To Australia!

Hey ladies!

While hanging out with a girl friend some time last week, I spotted these little cuties! These are the new L'Oreal nail polishes and they have 40 different shades to choose from!!

They are available in stores now, however I saw them at my local Target, they are also stocked at other retailers.

The bottles look very cute and slender and a total change from the bigger nail polish bottles such as OPI and China Glaze. This is about half the size!!

Have you guys seen these yet? Have you tried any?

My super small China Glaze Nail polish collection

I only have 5 China Glaze nail polishes in my collection! How did this happen? :0

China Glaze definitely is a great brand that tends to be overshadowed by OPI and Essie, but in terms of quality and choice of shades, they are definitely comparable!

I guess I am just really picky with with nail polishes I keep - I purge often!

The ones that made the cut are:

Something sweet
Re-freshmint
Lemon fizz
Midnight kiss

But yea, still single figures lol

No worries, this shall be rectified in the near future!!
