37 year old London 2012 Olympic athlete Vania Stambolova stumbled in the women's 400m hurdles - in the heats. I watched this happen on television and it was devastating. She was completely and utterly devastated, and I can totally understand why.
I know some people are making fun of her last name and the incident and although I can find the humour in it I do not find it funny. All her hard work was gone in an instant.
My sympathies are with her.
